GVH Virtual 10k – 5th & 6th Sep 2020

GVH Virtual 10k

Congratulations and thanks to all who ran the virtual 10k this weekend – some really excellent times and plenty of PBs which is testament to your efforts over the summer and the support of our fantastic coaches and leaders. I can now announce the winners!

Most Improved

Plenty of great performances but the winner (even with a slightly adjusted time for a short run!) is Kirstie Hardiman who improved a whopping 7.41%. Congratulations!

Points Race

No one (probably wisely) went for the sort of mega hilly route some chose for the relay, but lots of you had some excellent consistency in your splits. Topping the lot, your winner is Jono Marval who gained 50 points for consistent splits plus 20 points for elevation for an impressive total of 70. Great running!

Overall Female

The fastest lady this year was Heather Taylor who ran a storming 45:33 which was actually the run leg of a triathlon. Super impressive stuff. Tracey Cotton was 2nd in 50:40 and Victoria Crawley Wise 3rd in 51:00. Well done all!

Overall Male

This was a terrific competition with 3 men going under 38 mins. In 3rd place was Jon Roberts in 37:58, just pipped by Michael Linden in 37:57, but the winner was Matthew Watt in a scorching 37:30. Top running Gents.

Age Graded

Age graded takes into account your age and gender and compares that to the fastest times for the distance in the world and expresses your result as a percentage of that. In 3rd place was Michael Linden with an age grade of 75.98%, 2nd Mr Chairman, Andy Cook with 76.35% but the winner by well over 1% is Jon Roberts with 77.83%. Awesome performances.

Looking forward to some real and maybe some more virtual races soon!
