London Marathon Training Runs 2010
At the end of January, February and March we hold our (almost) world famous London Marathon training runs. They increase in length to coincide with your training plan, the first is 12 miles, the second a 17 mile and the third is a 20 mile. The course is mostly on quiet country roads (that will be open to traffic) through the stunning Ashridge Forest with a small section on the towpath of the Grand Union canal. The routes are fully marshalled with water stops and at the end there will be a steaming cup of tea and a mammoth cake waiting for you!
Dates for the 2010 GVH London Marathon Training Runs (full details are also in Runners World magazine):
Sunday 31st January 2010 12 Miles 9.30am Start Runners World Feedback
Sunday 28th February 2010 17 Miles 9.30am Start Runners World Feedback
Sunday 28th March 2010 20 Miles 9.30am Start Runners World Feedback
We have listened to your feedback and this year we will be operating a slightly 'staggered' start to try and alleviate the problem of congestion getting onto the canal towpath, so please line up at the start according to your estimated finish time and do take your own timings as this is a training run and not an officially timed race.
Cost is £5 on the Day. Please download this Entry Form and bring it with you on the day (DON'T POST IT AS THERE IS NO PRE-REGISTRATION)
Please arrive in good time to register and get ready to run. You can leave bags in the Clubhouse, it will be supervised but anything left is at your own risk. These runs are always popular and it gets busy in the Clubhouse in the 30 minutes leading up to the start!
